Surrey Memorial Hospital Women’s Health Workers Pen Open Letter to the Public
Workers from Surrey Memorial Hospital’s (SMH) women’s health department have written an open letter to the community outlining ongoing problems with their division. “We, the Women’s Health providers at Surrey Memorial Hospital, wish to articulate our deep concern regarding the crisis caused by chronic and pervasive under-resourcing which has led to unsafe conditions and adverse outcomes in our hospital,” reads an introductory excerpt from the letter. This comes less than two weeks after SMH emergency room doctors issued an open letter of their own, detailing a “crisis” at the facility involving what they call “unsafe conditions” in the workplace. World No Tobacco Day 2023: We Need Food, Not Tobacco
World No Tobacco Day (WNTD), which will be observed on May 31, 2023, will be observed by WHO and public health advocates from all over the world. This year’s theme is “We need food, not tobacco”. The 2023 global campaign aims to encourage tobacco farmers to grow nutrient-dense, sustainable crops by increasing awareness of alternative crop production and marketing opportunities. The tobacco industry’s attempts to obstruct efforts to replace tobacco farming with sustainable crops, which worsens the world food crisis, will also be the subject of the campaign. What Happens to Your Body When You Stop Taking Ozempic?
The active component of Ozempic and Wegovy, semaglutide, has the potential to be a potent aid in the promotion of weight loss and management of diabetes. It’s been hailed as a “miracle” weight loss drug for people living with obesity. But it only functions for as long as it is used, just like with many medications. A lot of people are visiting doctors and telehealth providers to…

The Water in You: Water and the Human Body
All life on, in, and above the Earth depends on water, and this is a fact. Since the majority of you is water, this is significant to you. Learn about the health benefits of water for people. Consider what you’ll require to simply survive. Food, air, water, or Facebook? I’m going to focus on water here, of course. All living things depend heavily on water; in some organisms, up to 90% of their body weight is made up of water. Water makes up up to 60% of an adult human’s body. According to Mitchell and others (1945), the lungs contain about 83% water, the brain contains 73% water, and the…

Your Intelligently Designed Body is a System of Systems
Every cell in your body requires answers to a complex set of issues, including containment, gates, controls, framing, transport, energy, information, and reproduction, in order to remain alive. Zooming out from a single cell, the human body as a whole is composed of somewhere between thirty trillion and forty trillion cells (a number that varies greatly depending on an individual’s size). It must find solutions to all the issues that a cell faces, in addition to a large number more. And it needs new solutions to old issues, ones that are entirely unrelated to the ways in which the same issues were resolved at the cellular level. A single-celled organism…
